Hong Leong Group, its major push into the property business began in the late 1960s when it consolidated most of its property interests and investments in Hong Leong Holdings Limited. The Group bought a majority stake in City Developments Limited, and transformed it from a loss-making company into a profitable property giant and bellwether stock on the Singapore Stock Exchange. As a major commercial landlord and landowner in Singapore's competitive real estate market, the Group collectively owns over 8 million square feet of lettable office, industrial, retail and residential space. It is also the largest residential developer in Singapore with nearly one in every five private homes sold in 2013 built by the Hong Leong Group.
Mitsui Fudosan, provides overall real estate services such as leasing, subdivision, construction, sales, and maintenance of office buildings and residential houses. The Company also manufactures building materials, operates commercial facilities including hotels and golf places, and provides financial services such as securitization of real estate properties.
Since its inception in 1967, DP has designed many of the country’s most important public projects and notable landmarks. Each of these has played a critical role in shaping Singapore’s civic urban landscape and downtown core, by linking spaces of the city in the formation of a continuous urban fabric. These sites serve as social and cultural anchors for Singapore and as public nodes of human density that have contributed greatly to the city’s success. DP has also been involved with urban projects of immense scale and increasing diversity of function; some of the firm’s works are the largest of their type in the world.
